In a recent NGF pulse-check of Core golfers, we set out to gauge perceptions of the affordability of a round and how it has changed over the past five years. Considering the fierce competition for golfers and the high perceived impact of discounting, we were surprised to hear that most survey respondents felt golf has gotten less affordable since 2007.
In July, 2012, NGF Surveyed Core Golfers and inquired about their familiarity, trial and perceptions of the TEE IT FORWARD (T.I.F.) concept. T.I.F., a national initiative supported through the partnership of the PGA of America and the United States Golf Association and perhaps most notably championed by Adams Golf Founder Barney Adams, promotes the idea that golfers would have more fun if they played the course at a length better-suited to their games (shorter yardage than they typically play).
